Skin Crisis Health Network is a non-profit dedicated to advancing skin-related research, training, and education — with a special focus on compromised skin conditions and underserved communities.
"Our skin is often the first thing we and others notice about us — and it profoundly influences how we feel. My goal is to help people feel better by addressing skin-related concerns."
The relationship is bidirectional — chronic skin conditions affect mental well-being, and mental health directly impacts the skin. Understanding this connection is central to everything we do.
A chronic skin condition characterized by red, itchy, and scaly patches. Individuals with psoriasis face a higher risk of depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
A chronic inflammatory condition causing itching, redness, and rash. Associated with increased risk of anxiety and depression, particularly in severe cases and among children.
A common condition affecting all ages. Its visible nature can deeply impact self-esteem, body image, academic performance, and social development — especially in young people.
We also address compromised skin conditions resulting from illnesses like diabetes, as well as severe skin crises including burns, infections, and life-threatening reactions — with particular focus on underserved and rural populations.
Our programs combine cutting-edge research, comprehensive training, and hands-on community outreach to create a world where everyone can achieve optimal skin health.
Throughout a professional journey spanning psychiatric nursing, research, and behavioral health consulting, Dr. Wu has consistently heard a significant concern from patients: their skin. That concern has remained a focal point of her career for over two decades.
With more than 25 years of skincare experience — including work with a leading skincare company focused on acne research and product development, and co-founding a therapeutic company designing solutions for challenging skin conditions — Dr. Wu established the Skin Crisis Health Network to share her extensive knowledge and improve the well-being of others.
Inspired by an enlightening trip to Asia and a career spent at the intersection of skin, psychology, and community health, Dr. Wu created this foundation on a simple truth: our skin is often the first thing we and others notice about us, and it profoundly shapes how we feel.
Whether you're a patient seeking resources, a healthcare professional, a researcher, or a community partner — there's a place for you in the Skin Crisis Health Network.
